Vamp

There are a lot of Vampire movies about at the moment aren't there? There's Twighlight, 30 Days of Night, Underworld, The Foresaken. There's even a new Buffy movie on the cards. But I want to big up a little cult classic called Vamp.
Vamp stars Grace Jones no less and shares a common theme with Tarrantino's Dusk 'Till Dawn.
The main characters are Keith and AJ, played by Chris Makepiece and Robert Rustler respectively, as two frat buddies who plan a road trip to a downtown strip club, in order to hire a girl for their initiation party.
What they don't know is that the strip club in question is run by a gang of bloodthirsty vampires.
It's a great little movie with plenty of laughs mixed in with the shocks and stand out performances from Grace Jones, who takes a non-speaking role, and who looks utterly beguiling, and also Hy Pyke, who played the laconic announcer at the club.
This is a full-on eighties schlock-horror, even down to the outrageous and over the top neon colour pallette. It's typical of many movies at the time that looked like pop videos. It isn't of the same quality of similarly themed movies of the time such as the Lost Boys, but I really loved it and the love interest, Dedee Pfeiffer is pretty cute.
