Log Out Before It's Too Late

What is this blogging all about? I'm sitting here, watching the darts and listening to my daughter enthusing about the lovely beaded necklace she's just made and thinking, 'what the hell do I do this for?' Blogging I mean.
Writing is one thing in my life that stops me living it. Quite frankly I've had enough of it, the constant nagging in the back of my mind, reminding me that I haven't posted for a week or two, and what should I write about?
I used to romanticise about being a writer, about creating magic with my fingertips and being my own boss, my own man, total freedom. The truth is that I'm just like you probably, getting moaned at by your loved ones that you're spending all your time on the computer, and being accused of having some online Facebook affair or something. What do you say to them? How do you explain why you spend so much time writing about yourself online, for complete strangers to probe and comment on?
This is a long way from where I thought writing would take me. I'm logging off and going outside to play catch with my little girl. See you around.
